COVINGTON, GEORGIA – Four individuals have been arrested following a New Year's Day shootout at a Circle K gas station in Newton County. Officials stated that more arrests might be made in the coming future.
According to a February 19, 2026 report by FOX 5 Atlanta, Sheriff Ezell Brown of the Newton County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the Newton County school system assisted investigators in identifying and locating several individuals involved in the incident.
Suspects Identified and Charges
Corde Marks, 18 (Covington) — arrested on February 13 with charges including two counts of aggravated assault, reckless conduct, discharging a firearm near a public highway, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Cameron Little, 21 (Covington) — arrested on January 7 with charges including first-degree criminal damage to property, reckless conduct, false statements, and firearm-related offenses.
Cameron Hill, 17 (Conyers) — arrested on January 7 with charges including first-degree criminal damage to property, possession of a pistol by a person under 18, giving a false name to law enforcement, and other weapon violations.
Earon Little, 19 (Covington) — arrested on January 7 with a charge of false statements.
Two Groups Clashed Before Shooting
The shootout occurred at the Circle K gas station on Salem Road. According to initial investigations, two groups of people had an altercation outside the gas station before exchanging gunfire.
All individuals involved had left the scene before law enforcement arrived.
No one was injured in the incident; however, a fuel tanker parked nearby was struck by bullets.
Investigation Continues, More Arrests Possible
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the conflict between the two groups, nor have they announced whether the firearms have been recovered.
Sheriff Brown stated that the investigation is still ongoing, and more arrests are likely in the near future.
