Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have just announced the results of a large-scale operation, leading to the seizure of over 77 pounds of drugs and numerous firearms. During this sweep, authorities arrested a man linked to an illegal drug and weapons trafficking ring within the city.
The suspect was identified as Raheem Raysean Taylor, who was arrested on February 13, 2026. According to investigative records, at the time of his arrest, Taylor was carrying 526 grams of powdered cocaine, equivalent to approximately 1.16 pounds of drugs.
Evidence Seized at Suspect's Residence
After searching the suspect's residence on Chalkstone Road, authorities discovered and confiscated a large quantity of illicit substances and firearms. The sealed evidence included over 73 pounds of marijuana, over 1,000 grams of MDMA, cocaine, and fentanyl.
In addition to the enormous quantity of drugs, police also seized a total of 18 firearms of various types at the scene. A quick check by authorities confirmed that at least two of the guns were stolen in previous incidents.
Police representatives stated that this arrest was the result of a covert investigation that lasted for several months. Court documents allege that Taylor sold fentanyl to undercover investigators at least twice in December and January.
Currently, Raheem Raysean Taylor is facing approximately 12 criminal charges related to drug trafficking and weapons offenses. The suspect is being held at Mecklenburg County Jail and has not yet been assigned a bond by authorities for release.
