Atlanta Police Investigate Homicide

The Atlanta Police Department is investigating the incident. Authorities have not released many details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Images from the scene show law enforcement personnel had cordoned off the area to collect evidence.

"A Cold and Heartless Act"

The victim's mother, Santriss Hawkins, called it a "cold and heartless act."

"I just can't believe it. I'm still in shock, so many emotions. Someone shot my son — a vibrant, sweet, and compassionate child," she said.

According to Hawkins, she and her son shared a very close relationship. She believes Tre's trusting nature might have put him in a dangerous situation.

"My son was trusting — perhaps too trusting. I think that's why my son is no longer here," she shared.

Tre is remembered by friends and family as "the life of every party," always bringing positive energy to those around him.

Belief in Justice

Despite her immense pain, Hawkins maintains faith in the investigating authorities and in her own beliefs.

"I know for sure that my son will get justice. I believe in the Atlanta police, and I believe in God. I know my son will get justice," she stated.

Police are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Atlanta Police Department to assist with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
