Fifth Suspect Arrested in Newton County Shooting

Authorities in Newton County, Georgia, have announced the arrest of an additional suspect in connection with the New Year's Day shooting. The incident occurred in front of a gas station, stirring local public opinion over the past few days.

The Newton County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Bryace Maurice Blair, 18, surrendered last Sunday. The suspect is currently facing multiple serious charges, including aggravated assault, reckless conduct, and illegal weapons possession.

Incident Details at Circle K Gas Station

According to preliminary investigations, the shooting stemmed from a heated argument between two groups of young people outside the Circle K gas station on Salem Road. After the altercation, gunshots rang out, causing panic among those present in the area.

All involved parties quickly fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive. Although the barrage of bullets caused significant property damage to the gas station and nearby areas, fortunately, no human casualties were reported.

Suspect List and Investigation Status

Prior to Blair's arrest, police had apprehended four other suspects, including: Corde Marks (18), Cameron Little (21), Cameron Hill (17), and Earon Little (19). As of now, only Corde Marks and Bryace Blair remain in custody at Newton County Jail awaiting trial.

Investigators are continuing to determine if any other individuals were involved in the shooting. The Sheriff's Office affirms that the case is still under expanded investigation to ensure safety and order for the community residents in the area.
