Tree crashes through roof, bringing down power lines

Strong winds on the afternoon of February 22 toppled a large tree onto a house on Overbrook Drive NW in northwest Atlanta. A baby was inside the home.

Atlanta Fire Department responded to the scene, finding the tree had crashed through the roof and brought down several power lines. The baby was medically evaluated on site and did not require hospital transport. Authorities confirmed there were no life-threatening injuries.

Georgia Power technical crews addressed the fallen power lines. Firefighters secured the scene and assessed the structural damage to the house.

Officials have not yet announced how many people were inside the house at the time of the tree fall. Weather forecasts indicated that the North Georgia area would experience strong winds along with a significant drop in temperatures throughout the day.
